Model: My mom & Seagulls
I have tried out three methods for taking these shots. For the first photo I wanted to have a symmetric view with the subject far away from the camera. The picture had almost no negative space. The contrast in color between the model and the background makes viewers focus on the details of the image, and can discover the uniqueness of the different trees. The photo is sharp, which enhances the details of the leaves. The second photo is asymmetric with the subject closer to the camera and have more depth of field than the first image. The photo has both an interesting foreground and background, my mother and the seagull. The warm white balance brings the picture a feeling of calmness and create a more dramatic effect. This photo can easily become a movie scene. The third photo is a photo of the seagull and the sun. I liked that the image had the bottom half all black, which made the photo more simple and make viewer appreciate the upper section more. Even though the picture has a lower exposure, the presence of the seagull brings the photo more life.
